The optimal timing of Ambu® Aura onceTM Laryngeal Mask Airway insertion with propofol induction

چکیده
Background: Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) is usually inserted without muscle relaxants, which requires good jaw relaxation. Previous studies have focused on creating the optimal condition for LMA insertion with different anesthetic adjuncts. This study to determine whether time interval between induction and influences placement conditions. Insertion of at best may decrease complications associated placement. Methods: a prospective randomized total 198 ASA I or II patients assigned three groups: Group 0”, 60” 90”, number representing seconds from loss eye lash reflex (ELR) insertion. All were pretreated intravenous midazolam 2 mg fentanyl 1 mcg/kg given time. Induction was achieved 2.5 mg/kg propofol. Ambu® AuraOnceTM placed by blinded anesthesiologist who also assessed based score system. The primary outcome find in each group. conditions defined as non-optimal 6 > 6, respectively. Results: percentage significantly amongst groups (p = 0.031). 68% 60”, that higher than 45% 0” 0.008), but not 58% 90” (p=0.207). Conclusions: general anesthesia propofol, pre-administration fentanyl, provided highest 60 after ELR.

Optimal Size AMBU® Laryngeal Mask Airway Among Asian Adult Population.
AIM This was a randomized single blinded study to determine optimal size for Ambu®LMA (ALMA) among Malaysian adult population. METHODS One hundred and twenty six non-paralyzed anaesthetized adult patients were block randomized into size 3, 4 and 5 Ambu®LMA. Optimal size is defined primarily by oropharyngeal pressure (OLP). Pharyngeal injury and ease of insertion are also taken into considerat...
متن کاملComparison of propofol and sevoflurane for laryngeal mask airway insertion.
In this study, we compared haemodynamic changes, laryngeal mask airway (LMA) insertion time, and complications in patients anesthetized by inhalation of sevoflurane with those of intravenous induction with propofol. One hundred patients, aged between 20-40 years were enrolled in this study. Group 1 received propofol (2.5 mg/kg i.v.) and group 2 received sevoflurane (6%+50% N2O+50% O2) by inhala...
متن کاملA comparison of sevoflurane induction versus propofol induction for laryngeal mask airway insertion in elderly patients.
OBJECTIVE To compare 8% or 5% sevoflurane and propofol induction according to the ease of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) placement and hemodynamic effects in elderly patients. METHODS Ninety unpremedicated American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) I-III male patients >65 years, undergoing day case urological surgical intervention under general anesthesia at the Numune Education and Research Ho...
متن کاملPropofol versus propofol with midazolam for laryngeal mask insertion.
We evaluated the addition of midazolam to propofol during induction of anaesthesia by assessing laryngeal mask tolerance, haemodynamic variables, recovery times and cost. Forty patients (ASA grades I-IV) undergoing elective surgery were allocated randomly to receive a standard dose of propofol or a smaller dose of propofol combined with midazolam. A laryngeal mask was inserted and any episodes ...
متن کاملHemodynamic responses to insertion of the laryngeal mask airway versus Combitube
Introduction: One of the most common problems during laryngoscopy involves sympathetic system stimulation and the subsequent hemodynamic changes. It is a key measure to maintain the hemodynamic stability of patients with cardiovascular diseases during induction of anesthesia. This study attempted to compare the hemodynamic effects of laryngeal mask airway and combitube. Methods: This prospec...
